1 Package Filo Pastry
5 Apples (Peeled, Cored and Chopped)
1 1/2 Cups Walnuts (Coarsely Chopped)
2/3 Cup Sugar
6 TBSP Vegetable Oil
1 TBSP Cinnamon
1/2 TSP Vanilla Extract
1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Lightly grease a baking dish and set aside.
In a medium glass bowl, add the chopped apple, walnuts, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla extract, mix well to combine.
Place 3 sheets of filo pastry on the bottom of the baking dish and lightly brush with oil, spread some of the apple and walnut mixture and cover with another couple of sheets of filo pastry, brush pastry with oil again and layer more apple mixture on top, repeat until all of the apple and walnut mixture has been used and finish with two sheets of filo pastry brushed with oil.
Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven.
Remove from oven after 20 minutes, allow to cool and then dust with the powdered sugar.
Serve warm.
