4 Hot Dog Buns
2 TBSP Butter (Unsalted, Softened)
1/4 TSP Garlic Powder
1/4 TSP Onion Powder
4 Hot Dogs (Split Lengthways, Not Cut All the Way Through)
2 Cups Cheddar Cheese (Shredded)
4 Scallions (Sliced)
With a heavy rolling pin, flatten the hot dog buns.
In a small glass bowl, stir together the butter, garlic powder and onion powder, spread over the outsides of the hot dog buns.
In a large skillet, over a medium heat, sear the 4 hot dogs until they are nicely charred, about 2 minutes per side.
Place a buttered hot dog bun, butter side down in the skillet and top with 1/4 cup of cheddar cheese, a hot dog and a little more cheese and about 1/4 of the sliced onions.
Cover the skillet with a lid and cook until the cheese melts, using a spatula close the bun.
Repeat with remaining 3 hot dogs and serve warm.
