1 Cup Butter (Softened)
1 1/4 Cups Sugar
1 Egg
1/2 TSP Ground Cinnamon
1/2 TSP Ground Nutmeg
1/2 TSP Ground Ginger
1/2 TSP Ground Cloves
3 Cups All Purpose Flour
1 1/2 TSP Baking Powder
1/4 TSP Salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees, line a baking sheet with parchment paper set aside.
In a large glass bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until smooth and creamy.
Add in the egg mixing well to combine.
In a separate glass bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground cloves, ground ginger and baking powder, gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet in batches, making sure to fully incorporate the dry ingredients before adding more.
On a work surface, roll out the cookie dough between 2 sheets of parchment paper before placing on a baking sheet in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, remove the cookie dough from the refrigerator and using cookie cutters, cut out individual shapes, placing them on the prepared baking sheet before placing them in the preheated oven for 8-12 minutes.
Remove from oven and allow to cool.
