Bangers & Mash With Onion Gravy Recipe.


Ingredients:


4 Russet Potatoes (Peeled and Cut into 2" Chunks)
Pinch of Kosher Salt
6 TBSP Butter
1 Cup Milk
Pinch of Ground Black Pepper
3 Medium Onions (Thinly Sliced)
2 Bay Leaves
3 TBSP All Purpose Flour
3 Cups Beef Broth
2 TBSP Olive Oil
8 Sausages (Italian Mild or Regular)


Recipe Instructions:


Place potatoes in a pan with cold water and season with salt and over a medium high heat, bring to a rolling boil.
Reduce to a simmer and cook until potatoes are soft, roughly 10 minutes.
Drain potatoes and put them back in to the pan, add milk, salt, pepper, butter and using a potato masher, mash until the desired consistency has been reached, Cover and set aside.
In a large non-stick skillet, add 2 TBSP butter, bay leaves and sliced onions and cook on a medium-high heat until the onions are brown, roughly 15 minutes.
Sprinkle onion mixture with flour and mix until evenly combined with the onions.
Stirring constantly, pour the beef stock over the onion and flour mix.
Bring to a simmer on high heat then reduce to low and cook until the mixture thickens roughly 5 minutes.
Remove from heat, discard bay leaves and season to taste with salt and pepper.
In a large skilled over a medium heat, place sausages in skillet and cook until browned on one side, roughly 6 minutes, flip sausages over and cover skillet while cooking sausages for another 7 minutes.
To serve, place mashed potatoes on a plate, put sausage on top and drizzle with onion gravy.
