4 bacon strips
2 cups fresh or frozen cut green beans (1-1/2-inch pieces)
1 cup water
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 TBSPs minced fresh basil or 2 TSPs dried basil
1 bay leaf
1/4 TSP dill seed
1/4 TSP garlic powder
1/8 to 1/4 TSP salt
1/8 TSP pepper
In a skillet, cook bacon until crisp.
Remove bacon; crumble and set aside.
Drain, reserving 1 TBSP drippings.
Add beans, water, onion and seasonings to drippings; bring to a boil.
Cook, uncovered, until beans are tender, 15-20 minutes.
Discard bay leaf.
Stir in bacon.
