2 slices of whole-grain bread (or gluten-free bread)
4 ounces of smoked salmon
1 ripe avocado, peeled and mashed
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 tablespoon of capers (optional)
Fresh dill for garnish
Salt and pepper to taste
Toast the slices of bread to your desired level of crispiness.
In a small bowl, combine the mashed avocado, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
Spread the avocado mixture evenly onto the toasted bread slices.
Top each slice with 2 ounces of smoked salmon.
Sprinkle capers on top for added flavor (if desired).
Garnish with fresh dill.
