Oyster Po'Boy Recipe.

Ingredients:

1 pint fresh oysters
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Vegetable oil for frying
French bread or baguette
Lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles for dressing
Tartar sauce for spreading

Recipe Instructions:

Rinse the oysters and pat them dry with a paper towel.
In a shallow bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
Dredge the oysters in the cornmeal mixture, coating them thoroughly.
Fry the oysters in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
Slice the French bread or baguette lengthwise and spread tartar sauce on both sides. Layer the fried oysters onto the bread and dress with lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles.
Cut the po'boy into individual servings and savor the briny goodness of the classic oyster po'boy.
