Sazerac Recipe.

Ingredients:

2 oz rye whiskey
1 sugar cube
3 dashes Peychaud's bitters
Absinthe or Herbsaint (for rinsing)
Lemon peel (for garnish)

Recipe Instructions:

Start by chilling an Old Fashioned glass in the freezer for a few minutes. Meanwhile, gather the rest of your ingredients.

In a separate mixing glass, muddle the sugar cube with a few drops of water until it dissolves completely. This will create a syrupy consistency.

Add the rye whiskey and Peychaud's bitters to the mixing glass with the sugar syrup. Fill the glass with ice and stir gently for about 30 seconds to combine the flavors and chill the mixture.

Take the chilled Old Fashioned glass from the freezer and rinse it with absinthe or Herbsaint. Swirl the liquid around the glass, coating the sides, and then discard the excess.

Strain the chilled whiskey, sugar, and bitters mixture from the mixing glass into the absinthe-rinsed Old Fashioned glass.

To garnish, take a fresh lemon peel and express the oils by squeezing it gently over the glass, allowing the essence to coat the surface of the drink. Rub the rim of the glass with the peel before dropping it into the drink as a final touch.
