Szechuan Beef Recipe.

Ingredients:

1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon Szechuan peppercorns, toasted and ground
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon grated ginger
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust according to your spice preference)
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup sliced bamboo shoots
1/2 cup sliced water chestnuts
Sliced green onions (for garnish)
Cooked rice (for serving)

Recipe Instructions:

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ground Szechuan peppercorns, cornstarch, sugar, grated ginger, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes. Stir well to make the marinade.

Place the thinly sliced beef in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the beef, ensuring it is evenly coated. Let the beef marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until it is browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the bell pepper, sliced mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and water chestnuts. Stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.

Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the stir-fried vegetables. Stir well to combine.

Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until everything is heated through and coated with the sauce.

Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions.
