Italian baguette, sliced into rounds
200g black pudding, sliced into thin rounds
1-2 apples, thinly sliced (Granny Smith or other tart varieties work well)
Olive oil, for drizzling
Honey, for drizzling
Fresh thyme leaves, for garnish (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare the Crostini:
Arrange the baguette slices in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Drizzle olive oil over the baguette slices and season with salt and pepper.
Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and crisp. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly.
Cook the Black Pudding:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the black pudding slices until they are crispy on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels to remove excess grease.
Assemble the Crostini:
Place a slice of cooked black pudding on top of each crostini.
Top each crostini with a slice of apple.
Drizzle with Honey:
Drizzle honey over the apple slices on each crostini. The sweetness of the honey complements the savory black pudding and tartness of the apple.
Garnish and Serve:
Garnish the crostini with fresh thyme leaves, if desired, for an added touch of flavor and color.
Arrange the black pudding and apple crostini on a serving platter and serve immediately.
