Tiramisu Trifle Recipe.


Ingredients:


For the Sponge Layers:

1 sponge cake or pound cake, sliced into cubes
1/2 cup brewed espresso or strong coffee, cooled
2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (such as Kahlua) (optional)

For the Mascarpone Layer:

500g mascarpone cheese
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

For Assembly:

Cocoa powder, for dusting
Chocolate shavings, for garnish
Ladyfingers, optional for additional layering


Recipe Instructions:


Prepare the Sponge Layers:

Arrange the sliced sponge cake or pound cake cubes in the bottom of a trifle dish or a large glass bowl.
In a small bowl, mix the brewed espresso or strong coffee with the coffee liqueur (if using). Drizzle the coffee mixture over the cake cubes until they are moistened but not soaked.

Prepare the Mascarpone Layer:

In a mixing bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until smooth and creamy, with stiff peaks.

Assemble the Tiramisu Trifle:

Spoon half of the mascarpone mixture over the soaked cake cubes in the trifle dish, spreading it out evenly.
Dust a layer of cocoa powder over the mascarpone mixture.
Add another layer of soaked cake cubes over the mascarpone layer.
Spoon the remaining mascarpone mixture over the cake cubes, spreading it out evenly.
Dust another layer of cocoa powder over the mascarpone mixture.
Optionally, you can add a layer of ladyfingers dipped in coffee and liqueur between the layers for added texture and flavor.

Chill and Garnish:

Cover the Tiramisu Trifle with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.
Before serving, garnish the top of the trifle with chocolate shavings or additional cocoa powder for an elegant finish.

Serve:

Spoon the Tiramisu Trifle into individual serving glasses or bowls.
