12 Hot Dogs
1 Cup All Purpose Flour
3/4 Cup Cornmeal
3 TBSP Sugar
1 TSP Baking Powder
1 TSP Salt
1/2 TSP Baking Soda
1/4 TSP Ground Black Pepper
1/4 TSP Cayenne Pepper
1 Cup Buttermilk
2 Large Eggs

Recipe Instructions:

Dry hot dogs off with some paper towel then skewer with long wooden skewers.
In a large glass bowl, whisk together the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, salt, baking soda, black pepper and cayenne pepper.
In a medium glass bowl, combine the buttermilk and eggs and pour into the dry ingredients.
Mix until just combined and pour batter into a deep jug or tall Collins glass.
In a large pot over medium heat, add enough oil to come halfway up the sides of the pot and bring to a temperature of 375 degrees.
Dip the skewered hot dogs into the batter mix and coat evenly, allow excess batter to drain and then fry the hot dogs for 4 to 6 minutes each, or until golden brown and cooking, turn as required using tongs to get an even color.
Remove cooked corndogs from the pan and place on paper towel to drain.
Serve with condiments of your choice.
